PS3 “It Only Does Everything” marketing starts
With the price point of both the PS3 Slim and Xbox 360 Elite now the same ($299) selling consoles is going to come down to the games and the marketing. Sony isn’t just resting on its laurels, rather the company is set to introduce the “It Only Does Everything” campaign on September 1st across TV, radio, online, retail, and social networks.
The PlayStation Blog has decided to share the first two TV adverts early to show the type of marketing we can expect. Rather than focusing just on games it is going to be all-encompassing highlighting the major features of the machine including games, PlayStation Network, Blu-ray, and downloadable movies. In the blog post Peter Dille, Senior Vice President, Marketing & PlayStation Network explains:
We recognize there are still many consumers who may not be aware of how powerful the PS3 truly is. So we’ve tailored this campaign a bit differently to extend our reach and PS3 family.
